His leadership and dedication continue to shape these thriving companies today. Dick's legacy remains a powerful influence in the world of international dairy nutrition.
Dick Lawes, the founder of Volac, exemplified the challenges and triumphs of early-stage entrepreneurship. He pioneered the development of innovative products for animal nutrition which were later developed into human nutritional products by later generations of his family.
These collectively turned Volac into a global leader in dairy nutrition. However, like many entrepreneurs, Lawes faced significant hurdles in the early stages of his entrepreneurial journey. Overcoming these barriers requires a blend of strategic vision, determination, and the ability to demonstrate potential value to investors.
These are challenges which a programme like our LEAP programme, aims to support aspiring entrepreneurs realise their visions and ambitions.
