BioAccelerate is a business accelerator programme designed to help you bring your innovative idea to fruition. Applications are now open to individuals or groups who wish to develop a new product or service in the bioscience, healthcare, agri-tech or food and drink sectors.

Foundation Phase (January 2022 - March 2022)

The programme delivery will be led by Nurture Ventures using a mixture of in-person and virtual activities with up to 20 selected individuals or teams of two in the 2022 cohort, starting on Wednesday 5 January 2022 and ending with a pitch event in March 2022.

Incubation Phase (March 2022 - June 2022)

Based on their pitches, six finalists from the Foundation Phase will be invited to join the second phase of the programme: the Incubation Phase and awarded £10,000 to develop their business idea.

Here, participants can expect hands-on and tailored mentoring and access to an array of subject experts as well as the great facilities at AberInnovation to further develop their propositions.

The Incubation Phase will also culminate in a pitch day, where the most promising proposition (as judged by the final pitch) will be awarded £50,000 to help bring it to market.

Participants will be eligible for the programme if they are or can evidence that they will be operating in Ceredigion by the end of the programme.

BioAccelerate 2022 Foundation Phase Schedule

Selected participants will undertake a hands-on 12-week programme including four full-day workshops, weekly mentoring, and a pitch day to bring the programme to a close.

You will work on specific outputs during BioAccelerate 2022, including:

  • the business model canvas
  • sales forecasts
  • defined market opportunity
  • market needs analysis
  • company valuation
  • investment pitch deck

Upon completing BioAccelerate, participants will have produced an investment-ready value proposition for their innovation.
