BBSRC

The Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council is part of UK Research and Innovation, a new body which works in partnership with universities, research organisations, businesses, charities, and government to create the best possible environment for research and innovation to flourish. Their aim is to maximise the contribution of each of our component parts, working individually and collectively. They work with our many partners to benefit everyone through knowledge, talent and ideas.

BBSRC invested £498 million in world-class bioscience in 2017-18, and support around 1,600 scientists and 2,000 research students in universities and institutes across the UK.

AberInnovation is a UK Research and Innovation Campus. These campuses form a vital component of the UK innovation ecosystem. Each campus is centred on a critical mass of world-leading bioscience, strategically supported by BBSRC, providing a unique environment where fledgling bioscience based companies can access specialist facilities and exchange ideas with leading researchers, creating a low-risk environment for high-risk innovation.
