The AberInnovation Solutions Catalyst programme funded by the UK Government, driven by Levelling Up and supported by UKRI - BBSRC to drive innovation and connect you to the wider UKRI Campus network returns for a third round, offering a package of support to include the following:

  • Aberystwyth University academic consultancy
  • Access to facilities and technical support at AberInnovation
  • Consumables for research & development
  • Workshops

The programme will accelerate progress in R&D by offering companies a voucher worth up to £30,000 to gain supervised access to AberInnovation’s state-of-the-art facilities, capabilities and skills and Aberystwyth University academic expertise for:

  • UK companies from the food & drink, biotechnology, circular economy and agri-tech sectors
  • Spin-out businesses from IBERS and the wider university
  • AberInnovation tenant and member businesses
  • Business alumni of AberInnovation business support programmes

AberInnovation is integrated into the research and innovation activities at Aberystwyth University and features prominently in the University’s approach to building innovation and engagement activities by delivering impact from research outputs.

Participants should propose a project detailing the use of expertise, facilities and equipment and the matched contribution of time and resources. The subsidy will be provided in the form of a voucher (credit) at AberInnovation. A full overview of equipment and capabilities available for early-stage research projects can be identified in the brochure.

All applications will need to demonstrate the need for research and development, the innovation and the challenge that their project addresses, a route to market and value for money.
